Pepsin
Pepsin is a proteolytic enzyme produced by cells of the gastric mucosa, which breaks down proteins inside the peptide chain for easier water-soluble peptides. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of bonds between the amino group of tyrosine and phenylalanine and aspartic acid or glutamic.
