Potassium
Potassium is an important mineral element (alkali metal), which nutritionists call macro-element, because the body needs it in large quantities.
Potassium functions
- plays an important role in the transfer of impulses in the nerves and muscles in the process of cell metabolism, enzyme reactions and the synthesis of muscle protein from amino acids in the blood
- applies in the digestion of carbohydrates, in the transfer of glycogen, stimulates insulin secretion
- is involved in maintaining pH balance in the body, affects the osmotic pressure and water management
- is important for proper growth, maintaining healthy skin, stimulation of the kidneys when disposing of toxicity
Dry milk is its excellent source, but it is also found even in normal milk and diary products, fish, meat, bananas, beans, soybeans and potatoes.

Recommended daily intake of potassium is 2000-4000mg. In the absence of rising blood pressure, heart rate becomes irregular. In contrast, excess pressure is low and vice versa person experiencing overall weakness.
